My dad and I are Propreitors at 2 separate small Propreitorship firms with combined 8 employees, 4 employees on the books of each firm. Please advise which insurer would be best able to offer a suitable group health insurance cover? In case 4 employees is lesser than minimum number of employees needed for Group health Insurance, can 1 of the 2 firms take a policy for 8 employees?

Dear Jeetu
Each company has definition of group but minimum members in group should be more than 10 .
Most of companies define group with 25 members .
So you will not be able to take a group insurance . Moreover , even if you take a group insurance rates will be same as of individual rates .
You get reduced premium only because of large group .
So go ahead and buy individual policies under Employer employees scheme so that you remain owner of policies .
