Chance of getting family cover

reply Share

I applied for HDFC Ergo Optima Restore Family Floater policy for my wife, daughter, and myself. HDFC Ergo denied cover for my wife and daughter due to some health conditions.

Should I spend my time and effort applying for any other private insurers like Maxbupa, or ICICI Lombard etc. or they will also reject it mostly?

What other options I have to get a good family floater policy?

Check with Care Health Insurance (hitherto known as Religare). They seemingly have a more open underwriting policy and may be helpful.

Alternatively, you can also check with one PSU Insurer.

It would be great if you keep us informed about the outcome as it will serve as a learning template for advice to others. Thanks

It will be good to understand what were the health conditions because of which cover was denied?

Hey Jani,

It helps to know what is the medical condition declared in proposal form.

There are certain medical conditions which may be declined risk for most insurers.

As Asad suggested, you can give it a shot at different insurers. Make sure you make same disclosures.
