Comprehensive cover or Individual better for family.

Hello Experts,

While I'm searching for Health insurance for my parents, I came through comprehensive floating policy for 5.5 Lakhs for family. Earlier I thought to get policy for my father and mother only with 5 lakhs cover in reload method but after I changed my thought. Star health or Manipal Cigna Prohealth they providing comprehensive family policy, premium out of my budget nearly 37k does I can go for Individual policy or family policy. Already my sister has health insurance policy with 4lakh from her company whether we can leave her.

Hi,

Could you please share age of your parents and other members that will be part of family floater?

Most plans don't allow 3 adults in their family floater plans after a specific age. This age is defined by the insurer as part of the policy. Once you answer the above question I will be in better position to guide.

Hi Rohit,

My father age is 51 and mother will be 45, 27 years for me. We are three planning for comprehensive plan with 10 lakhs from Manipal Cigna Pro health, Whether it looks fine with additional of any rider

Hi,

The family floater plan from Star or Cigna will not allow 27 yr old to be part of a floater plan.

You will have to take two seprate policies. One for yourself & Other for your parents. Please read through policy wording and benfits before you buy the plan.
