Dear Sir. As per the new guidelines applicable from 1-101-2020, It is understood that coverage of genetic diseases cannot be denied by the insurer. I would like a clarification. My son has polycystic kidney disease and when he wanted the coverage of the treatment for it, it was denied earlier by the insurer Is it covered in the new guide lines? If not covered is there any possibility of getting it covered by approaching any agency?

Hello Mr. Sribashyam,
Here's what is now covered under Health Insurance policies, thanks to the new guidelines.
We are not healthcare specialists, so we won't be able to guide you whether the disease your son has is a genetic disorder or not. It would be helpful if you can check about this with your doctor. If the disease is confirmed as a genetic disorder, then hospitalization for such a disorder should be covered under your health insurance policy.
