Critical illness - standalone premiums are really expensive
Hello Experts,
I have downloaded e-book The Most Definitive Guide To Critical Illness Insurance and went through the pros and cons of CI rider vs CI standalone. Having said that, I still cant quite comprehend the argument in favor of standalone policy. When I checked premiums of Aditya Birla Activ Secur, the advisor told me that premiums will be revised every 5 years. On thier portal when I do some calculations - premiums increase exponentially after 40, 45 years so on.
I agree that number of illness covered is higher in standalone policy, but as your own e-book mentions, 90% of illness are in the common category.
In light of above, what are the most compelling reasons for stanalone CI cover ?
Hello Avinash,
In our view, both standalone and rider serve different purposes, and different persona of customers.
If you check our conclusory remarks we have clearly mentioned that Rider is a practical, cost-effective solution, and Standalone is an ideal, perfect solution. The differences have been explained very clearly, for one to map against your priorities and decide the next course of action.
