Operated for colon cancer 5-1/2 years back and as per recent routine checkup about a month back, have been declared free. Can insurers deny policy on the basis of this?

Dear Bala
I am sorry but no insurer will be willing to accept your case .
Please note that insurance works on principle of pool of people having common risk. Any one having additional risk will be asked to pay higher premium or will be refused entry in pool .
Recovered cancer patients carry higher risk amd will not be accepted in pool .
There can be one possibility if you have group insurance , you can get cover .
Hope this clarifies

Cancer usually forms a part of declined risks across many std insurance plans, your chances of getting a comprehensive insurance with cancer as a pre existing ailment is very limited.
Unless you apply for cancer specific plans that come with their own rigid conditions on coverage and sub-limits.
