If a person has bipolar disorder, is he/she entitled to get health insurance. It doesn’t matter if the insurance can cover bipolar related hospiltalization.

Hello Rahul,
Apologies for the delayed response.
In our experience, we have found most insurers not accepting cases with a mental illness. So yes, it will be hard to find insurers who are open to providing health insurance coverage for bipolar disorder.
Now, coming to your second point, we understand you are saying that it is fine if bipolar disorder is not covered, but can insurers cover other hospitalization costs? Note - As per the standardization guidelines issued by IRDAI - Insurers cannot issue policies with permanent exclusion on Mental illnesses.
