Does TATA AIG medicare premier has a capping on room category ?
Hi
I bought a TATA AIG medicare premier health insurance, at the time of buying the sales agent said that this plan has no capping on room rent and I cab choose any room category.
Today I got a call form hdfc ergo health insurance and they are saying that aig medicare premier there is a capping on room rent and only single AC private room is allowed. Is it true?
I was also told in hdfc ergo plan there is no limitation on room rent.
In HDFC Ergo Optima Restore plan, there is no room rent capping but in the new Optima Secure plan, for upto SI < 50L, you can opt for any room except Suite Room. For SI 50L & above, there is no room rent capping.
Dear Rahul
There is no capping and you can choose your room .
However remember one basic I.e higher the room rent higher will be related expenses and you will consume your sum assured .
For example , doctor visit charge to a deluxe room will be re 2000 and economy room can be rs 1000 .
In same way all expenses go up . Total expense of treatment can be 30 % lower in economy room . It is a limited sum assured and it is in your interest to use it with care .
Best wishes
No, it doesn't have any capping. It is clearly mentioned in the policy schedule.
