Family Floater Plan - Advice
Hi,
I am planning to take Health Insurance Family Floater amounting to approximate 30L or 50L for (self, wife & daughter).
My main points to consider the policy was no co-pay, no claim bonus and room rent. I found Max Bupa promising but want to know which one is better between :
a) Health Companion VS Reassure.
b) Suggestion on any other policy better than the above.
c) Is it good to go directly with the company or any advantage to go with aggregators.
d) Any aggregator / contact which you suggest whom I can reach out for taking hassle free policy and also helpful in near future during claims etc.,
e) Any other valuable point to be considered before taking a policy

Hi Sanjay,
Answers to your questions as desired -
a) Reassure is better than Health Companion. It has many feature advantages over Health Companion. One that I especially like is UNLIMITED RESTORATION for any Insured and/or any illness.
b) Max Bupa Reassure is good. You could also check products of HDFC Ergo (erstwhile Apollo Munich), Aditya Birla Health, Manipal Cigna, and Care Health (erstwhile Religare).
c) Buy through a good Broker as they will be helpful to you in case of claims. FYI, Policybazaar is also an Insurance Broker now.
d) No recommendations.
e) You have already talked about no co-pay, no room rent limits, and high no-claim bonus as your criteria. The other important criteria to check are temporary & permanent exclusions, waiting period on pre-existing conditions as well as some named illnesses. In fact, the Beshak team has written a whole piece on exclusions this week. Check it out here.

Hope this helps.

Dear Sanjay
My recommrndaiins are given below :
1. You dont need cover of 30 or 50 lakh . Go for 20 lakh bsse and super Top up of 50 lakh . You will save approx 40 % of cost .
2. I feel all products sre good but presented differenyly . So choose a product which is simple to understsnd , cover all eventuality without co pay.
3. I always recommend a good service oriented agrnt . Look for a knowledgable agent with proven credentials .
Brst wishes
Hey Sanjay,
Both the plans from Max Bupa are highly recommended. But before we speak about the plans, I need to understand the medical background or medical history of the people you want to cover in your policy, this can potentially change my advice. I have written about what to look for in the medical history in an earlier query on Beshak here - https://www.beshak.org/forum/post/pre-existing-disease
Since this is a public platform, I understand it may not be feasible to share personal medical details here. Feel free to write to me on anuj@sureclaim.in if you want to privately convey those details.
Answers to some of your questions in the order-
c) All are the same, nothing less nothing better.
d) Will discuss once you are clear on (a) and (b)
e) You will find some more pointers in my response to an earlier Beshak query here - https://www.beshak.org/forum/post/health-insurance
