How much should be the base cover be, when there is restoration as well as supertop ups available. Is there any advantage of higher base if affordability is not an issue. Option A (10 lacs base + restoration + 90 lacs STU) vs Option B ( 20 lacs base + restoration+ 80 lacs STU), which one to go for a 40+ person with family. Option A is much cheaper than Option B, and generally I found advice of 10 lacs, so what is the plus points of option B..

Hi Sameer,

You should always depend on the base sum assured. If you are 40 plus I will recommend that you go for 20 lacs base sum assured to take care of your future medical expenses

Hi Sameer

Festive greetings!

When we talk of insurance it should always be taken as a risk management measure and nothing better than taking the highest possible sum assured in your base plan...as it gives you standalone coverage , gives you hassle free Experience in terms of claim settlement within a single policy and comes handy when more than one member is undergoing treatment at the same time( let's say a major accident involving all family members). Super top up comes into picture purely as a tool to reduce the cost of insurance and this policy will settle your claim only when the treatment cost is more than the deductible amount chosen.

Hope this explanation helps
