Also please tell me which banks can offer insurance with this PED , waiting period is fine .?

You'll need to submit the proposal along with all the relevant medical records basis which the company will evaulate and either accept or reject the proposal.

I don't think any bank group insurance provides PED coverage from day 1. It is mostly employee/association/society group insurance which if opted for provide PED day 1 coverage.

Even with 2-3 year waiting period for cancer is ok , does bank insurance can be offered by any insurers to my father ?

like any nationalised or private bank with any insurance ?

Any possibility of that option apart from star insurance ...

Sorry, I'm unaware of the bank plans as they keep changing every year. You'll have to contact the banks individually and gather the details. Also the plans can be discontinued anytime, premiums become unviable etc.

Another thing is that in most of the group insurance plans which are offered by the banks have waiting period for PED unlike employer/employee group health insurance and if they asking for PED details (if the bank officers do their due diligence in taking all the information), I think cancer would be under the declined category.

Another disadvantage with bank policy is that, even if the current insurer accepts your PED, the next year, the new insurer (if changed) may or may not offer continuity benefits.

For eg. (This is what I heard from another customer.)

Canara bank is currently offering 2 group plans, one from Bajaj Allianz and one from Tata AIG. And Tata AIG is not offering continuity benefits if someone wants to port from Bajaj Allianz plan to Tata AIG.

So, even though bank policy is the only option you've other than the Star Cancer Platinum plan, I'd suggest you to understand and research on all these factors before spending your money which you could otherwise help you in creating your own medical fund.
