Hi Team,

I had a question raised in my mind last week. I was trying to look for an answer on internet but could not get proper answer. I thought of checking with the experts here. My query:

Currently I am the proposer for my family floater policy where my spouse and kids are also included. In case of any risk for my life and i am no longer alive, can my family continue to use the policy and renew the policy for subsequent years. Can my spouse became the proposer in such cases. as you know if she need to buy a new policy we will have challenges of waiting period, or probably may not get a new policy because of her health conditions at that time.

What do you suggest in such scenarios.

Appreciate you advise. Thanks.

Hi Viswanath,

I pray that nothing like this ever happens. But, in the event of such eventuality, your wife can become the new proposer of your family health insurance policy by submitting a CHANGE REQUEST FORM to the Insurer at the time of renewal. The Change Request Form can be downloaded from the Insurer's website or can be obtained with the help of your Broker/Agent.

It's an easy process. Don't worry about it.

Best Wishes,

Asad Akbar
