Health Insurance Policy Migration
HI,
I am having an Arogya Sanjeevani Policy with Star Insurance. I want to migrate from Arogya Sanjeevani Policy to the Young Star policy within Star insurance itself.
The company is avoiding migration for the same telling it is not allowed for Arogya sanjeevani policy to be migrated to young star policy.
But it is nowhere mentioned in the policy document that such migration is not allowed.
Star Health doesn't allow migration/portability to the Young Star plan, the reason being that this plan has only 1 year waiting period for both PEDs and the list of specific illness which is not the case with other general health insurance plans.
You can explore other plans of Star Health, like the recently launched Health Assure which is a good plan. Otherwise, you can check plans from other insurers.
Dear Danny
You should continue the basic plan of Arogya Sanjeevani .
Buy a supplementary plan of Star , rather buy a super Top plan of Rs 30 lakh with deductible of sum assured Arogya Sanjeevani .
This will give ypu best of both .
Best wishes
Shailesh

It is true you cannot migrate from Aarogya Sanjivani as its a no frills health insurance plan mandated by the govt to be offered by every health insurer.
Had your plan been a pvt health insurance plan this would've been possible, your best option is to buy a comprehensive plan now that has better features & coverage as compared to AS.
