There is no perfect health insurance company, every one has an issue or two. Since Max Bupa is a specialised ii.e. standalone health insurance company their services are a bit better than many others. No insurer wants to give a hard time to their customer therefore it all depends on what details you share in proposal form provided customer has understood all t&c - benefits, exclusions & limits. Disappointment comes from when you are not aware of certian aspect of the plan you choose.

Max Bupa Re-assure: Your question is little generalistic. I could like a Brezza but you could prefer a Nexon or a Venue. It is a good enough product pays once policy holder is hospitalised, other companies too pay when their is hospitalisation. It will be better if your question could be a little specific on any benefit or feature.

A plan which is somewhat similar is HDFC Ergo Optima Restore.

Answers to your questions are as follows:

1) Please access IRDAI's annual report of FY 2019-20 & look at STATEMENTS beginning page 157. It will give you a good idea of some hard facts about each Insurer like premium underwritten, claims settlement ratio, claims settlement time, etc. On these parameters, Max Bupa looks comparable with other Health Insurers. .

2) These hard facts, however, do not speak about the customer experience rendered by Insurers/TPAs at the time of claim. Beshak team is working on a data driven soft indicator of customer experience. It will be published soon. Keep watching this space.

3) Max Bupa Health Reassure is a good plan. It gives unlimited restoration upto base Sum Insured that can be used for any subsequent treatment in a policy year (same or different illness and/or same or different insured person).
