How to Continue Corporate Health Insurance (Insurance provided by Employer) After you leave the job?

I'm having corporate group health insurance (from my employer) for me & my dependants. I'm planning to take a sabbatical next year. So all my health insurance benefit from my employer will stop. How can I continue my health insurance without discontinuing my insurance ( that is to avoid the waiting period for any PED)? Can I continue with same insurance provider (as that of my corporate insurance) & pay him premium from my own pocket and still continue my insurance (and avoid waiting period if any for PED)?

Dear Govil

This is possible to port from group plan to individual plan for same insurer.

You will have to write a mail to insurance company with your intent.

Please note that individual rate will be more than double. While port ,continuity benefit would apply for same or lesser sum assured.

So do not try to increase your sum assured.

Hope this clarifies.

Best wishes
