I have provided the RT_PCR Test report from authorized lab. However the insurance company requesting Covid report in ICMR format. what to do if lab is unable to provide. ICMR ID and SRF ID both shared with Insurance company. It a diagnosis cover and insurance company delaying it with one document or other.

If the requirement of the policy is only detection of Covid, the report in any specific format does not provide any added value. I am not aware of any policy which requires report to be in a specified format. I am not aware if ICMR prescribed any standard format as I could not find such a format in website also.

You can make a representation to the grievance dept of the insurer and in case there is no response within 30 days or if the response is unsatisfactory, approach Insurance Ombudsman office with your complaint. You should get a favourable decision.

Dear Ashutosh

Many people are facing similar problem because of lack of clarity .

Insurance companies are under pressure because of heavy work load .

If your report has ICMR authorisation and SRF number then report is acceptable.

Report is essential only in Kawach or Rakshak policy .

Just persist with your documentation , you should get claim .

In case of any problem , you can reach Us
