my father has Hypertension issue & it was diagnosed around 7yrs or 8 yrs ago. But lost all his past health records like prescriptions or blood sample reports. If he takes any insurance now from Niva Bupa, should we provide all the previous records before the insurer..?? If insurance company asks for past reports while claim process, will they cancel the claim..?? Is it necessary..??

Hi,

So, in this case previous records will not be required at the time of buying the policy. Just disclosure with the names of medicines is required at the time of filling up the proposal form.

From now on , it is recommended to maintain health records in a single file for future reference and claims.

Thanks

Hi Saha,

To be very specific, you do not need to give previous blood test reports or previous medicine, you just need to disclose correctly the onset date/tenure of illness and hospitalization records, present medications if any. If you provide documented evidence of these things, it is better otherwise your self declaration is sufficient to process the proposal.

However the claim can get rejected only when material information is not disclosed., That is if you do not declare the bp condition altogether or its tenure or the medicines being taken.

And to be sure, you can try our 1 to 1 free consultation to get your trumatch report for free and all your concerns will get addressed easily.

Hope this explanation helps
