Can anyone please help understand that if a child is born with thalassemia major because of his parents being thalassemia minors, will his parents be able to buy health insurance for the child and also buy individual health insurance plans for themselves, which would cover thalassemia? Thank you!

Typically, most insurers cover new born babies after a waiting period of 90 days.

Since your query is very specific, need to know if the parents developed the condition post taking the health insurance? If yes then the policy conditions would specify if and when the new born would be covered for similar disease. if the parents took the policy with a pre existing condition, then the situation is rather straight forward
