LASIK (PRK) counts as pre-existing disease (PED)?

I have taken super top up and I had a PRK (kind of LASIK) surgery done to get glasses removed. It was a completely elective surgery and I had not complications and I am not taking any medicines. Insurance company has added pre-existing disease -"Disease of eye and Adnexa", does it seem fair or should I fight? What would happen if I have an unrelated eye disease?

We breathe insurance :)

Hello Ashish,

From your question, it seems the treatment you underwent was cosmetic, and not because of a disease or health condition. Ideally, it does not need mention as a Pre-existing disease (as it is not a disease)

Yes, many conditions otherwise covered for your eye - may get excluded or complicated if there is a claim.

We would recommend you talk to your insurer and reason it out with them
