Hi Team,

I have bought max bupa health reassure family floater plan with SI of 10 lac with the safegaurd addon for me and wife ( age 31 and 28)

Also I have a super top up(health re charge ) of 90 lacs with deductible of 10 lacs.

My Questions are as below.

  1. First and most important question is how is the plan and the SI that i have taken? What are your views on that ??
  2. Second,The super top up has a room rent cap of single room (this was what the corporate agent said that it is a ac room with attached bathroom of the lowest value).I was okay with this configuration. What do you think about this limitation? Can a person be comfortable in such room.
  3. The main burning question.Looking at the covid situation, the oxygen cylind prices have skyrockted .Will this oxygen cylinder cost be covered under this policy?
  4. Last question is that i hope covid hospitilisation is covered under this policy and if the waiting period is 15 days??

I have a free look period going on .

So if get answers to above question. It will be really helpful :)

Hey Megha,

First of all, congratulations for making a wise decision. Now let me just straight into your questions. Answers are in same sequence.

  1. ReAssure with Safeguard is a highly recommended product. Very good choice. SI is also sufficient for a lifetime.
  2. Just check with your agent. You may have the option to change 'Single Ward' to No 'limit on room rent'. However, Single Pvt AC Room of the most basic rent is also not a bad option. So don't worry.
  3. Yes, oxygen cylinder cost will be covered. However, read the Domiciliary Hospitalization benefit terms and condition. Means, you need to have a letter from doctor stating treatment to be taken at home and you need another letter from hospital stating no beds available. Else, if the treatment is taken at hospital, you don't need to worry about it.
  4. Yep, covid treatment is covered post 15 days (if symptoms have not started in 1st 15 days)

Happy to answer any followup questions you may have.

Dear Megha

Agree with answers of Arun , I would like to supplement answers as below :

  1. Max Bupa is a respectable insurance provider and Reassure is a dependable solution . Though I would recommend Rs 5 lakh plus Super top up of Rs 20 lakh . I would also add critical illness plan for Rs 10 lakh from the money saved .
  2. Yes , rooms allowed are comfortable . You are going for treatment and not for luxury holiday . Please note that all other hospital expenses are linked to room rent .
  3. You mean home treatment , yes it covers a reasonable billed rate of cylinder .
  4. Yes , it covers covid treatment post waiting period .

Hope this clarifies
