Missed Disclosure on Health Insurance

24 Jan, 2022 by  Info Seeker

My mother had purchased a health insurance policy from Star 5 years ago. She has been taking medication for hypertension and thyroid since 12 years, which had been declared in policy too. We just remembered that she had undergone a small laser procedure 15 years back for her retina on right eye. Asmom had forgotten about it, it was only a 10 min procedure, she missed to declare it. Would you advise that we update the health insurance team on it now

Hi,

Yes, you can give a written declaration to declare the PED / email them with the information on sugical procedure done informing them that you missed to declare at the time of buying the policy.

As it is not a major procedure, it should not have impact on her existing policy.

Better to declare to avoid any confusion at the time of claim.

Thanks
