Niva Bupa Super Top Up

Dear team,

I have a base health insurance policy with Niva Bupa for 20L SA (ReAssure) - family of 4. I am planning to go for a super top-up with the same insurer. 1. What is the deductible amount that I should opt for under base policy while purchasing the top-up cover? 2. Is there any disadvantage of having a higher deductible amount - say 10L or 15L? 3. Is there any major advantage of lower deductible amount - say 5L? Please guide.

Dear Basker,

1) Ideally the deductible should be equivalent to your base policy sum insured. In Niva Bupa Plan the highest available deductible is 10 Lacs. Hence chose the same.

2) Can't think of any

3) Can't think of any

I hope this is helpful to you.

Hi Basker R,

1. You can take a top up cover with 10L deductible, that the highest available at 90L, go for a family floater Top up

2. You'll have your base policy covering your first 10L expenses, so it makes sense to go for higher SA

3. With lower deductible, the only disadvantage is the top up plan may be costlier, other than that, nothi
