PAN card utility while admission in pvt hospitals

Hi,
One thing I noticed that while admitting patient in a pvt hospital the reception/TPA desk always ask for AADHAR card and PAN card of the patient. While importance of aadhar is known to me I don't understand why they ask for pan card. Please enlighten me.

Aadhar and PAN is acceptable identity card . Now a days only Aadhar is also acceptable .
PAN card is important because your KYC is not done without it and if money is to be credited then Bank name has to be same as of PAN .
