Please advise regarding Health Insurance offered by GetVital.

Dear Sir,

I have a family floater from Care Insurance (Basic Cover 3L with Super No Claim Bonus). Recently, I have gone through a plan offered by GetVital (in collaboration with Care Insurance), which seems decent in terms of Cover and Premium. I will get many affordable rates if I go with a 1Lakh deductible. I want to know whether it is a good idea to go ahead with this plan offered by GetVital, in addition to my current plan. Will the deductibles be covered cashless from my existing insurance (which is from the same company)? Please advise.

Dear Shubham

Some clarification

Getvital is a platform selling Health Insurance of Care , Icici Lombard and others . As fas as I know there is no collaboration of Care .

Like an agent they are selling you Health Insurance of Care .

Their agent is not doing your Need Analysis . You have a base cover of 3 lakh , supplement your cover through super Top up of rs 10 lakh with deductible of 3 lakh . So all expenses upto Rs 3 lakh will be covered by Care and expenses more than 3 lakh will be supported by super Top up .

Dont go for this offer of Rs 1 lakh deductible as it does not make sense .

Best wishes

Dear Shubham

There are many discrepancies

1. Said top up with 1 lakh deductible would cost more than 30000 .

2. Health insurance companies do not accept premoum in monthly mode .

3. First you exhaust base then appy for top up claim . Evidence of claim has to be given .

Hope this suffice .

Hi,

Would like to clarify a few points here.

  1. Health insurance companies do accept premiums in monthly mode. This is as per regulations approved by IRDAI, the plan from VITAL will also offer the option of monthly premiums. Please refer IRDAI guidleines here https://www.irdai.gov.in/ADMINCMS/cms/whatsNew_Layout.aspx?page=PageNo4103&flag=1
  2. Not sure how the said topup would cost more than 30K, premiums will depend upon your age, family composition, cover amount opted for and also the optional deductible you choose.
