Policy denied due to depression which we mentioned in medical history (currently not on any treatment), does all health insurer does this can anyone share their experience regarding depression

Hello Ronak,
As mentioned by Hari sir, please do try and check with a PSU insurer through a local office. If you offer to cover all the family members, and not only the person suffering from the illness, they may be open to cover. In case they decline, ensure you take the decline in writing from them.

Generally people with mental health conditions are not preferred by insurers. But I have got policy accepted thru a public sector insurer for a person who was borderline Schizophrenic and under control with medication. I do not think people with depression having medication or someone who used to have depression should be facing problems in getting insured.
