Hello Team,

I will be moving company and my existing company provides a group plan, during the course of my employment here I was diagnosed with renal issues and I underwent a renal transplant around 2.5 years ago. I am in the employment of the company for last more than 5 years. I now want that the benefit of this group policy gets ported to a retail plan. Can the Insurance company (Oriental Insurance) decline to port because of my PED, despite the fact that the PED was discovered during the policy period? Please help by providing a solution to it.

Hi Amrit,

You have an option to migrate to individual policy(covering you and your family members covered in group policy) with the same insurer with continuity benefits, no insurer which has covered you under Group policy and deny migration to individual retail policy due to PED.

IRDAI has issued a detailed circular in this regard on 01.01.2020, kindly check point no 3, 4,5,6,7 of circular:
