Hi folks,

Im currently in talks with UIB insurance brokers who handle my company's corporate insurance to port it to personal

I have parents aged 65 and 64 respectively.

The corporate insurance was by mediassist and when I requested for porting, UIB gave me insurance terms and conditions from New India Assurance company.

I have doubts continuity of insurance etc..

What questions should I ask UIB?

Dear Kevin,

If your corporate group health cover is from new India then you can visit any nearest NEW INDIA Office and you can buy personal policy

Once policy is issued please check for inception date that is very important.

Note :

  1. Waiting period for pre existing disease is 4 years to waive off the waiting period you need to submit last 4 yrs group insurance copy.
  2. If you are enhancing the coverage then there will be waiting period applicable for the enhanced sum insured
  3. Co pay is applicable as parents are above 60

Once your parents policy is migrated to personal insurance then you can PORT to any company in future.

Having personal health insurance is always best it can be continued through out your lifetime you can utilise the restoration benefit.

Thanks & Regards

As per I RDA regulations , you are entitled for continuity benefits hence make all declarations and apply for port in same insurance company.

Go ahead and apply , in case of any objection you can approach us .
