Porting health insurance policy from hdfc ergo to Adity Birla

I have a HDFC ergo optima restore health insurance policy since last 2 years. This year they have increased their premium to Rs 17k. Aditya Birla is offering me the same insurance benefits at Rs 14k premium. So should I port my policy to Adity Birla's Active Health Platinum(Enhanced) plan ? What are the disadvantages I need to consider ?

Hi Vikas,

Have you compared the plan features in both the plans, so you are sure that you are getting peer to peer comparison. Some features in Aditya Birla Health Platinum are varied based on room rent.

Also, there are difference in both the plans out of which you should identify which one is more important for you such as following:

Room Limit (No Limit in HDFC, Premium based on room rent selection in ABHP)

Road Ambulance Charges (As per actual in ABHP, max 2k/hospitalization in HDFC)

Network Hospitals List (Check for hospitals around if they are covered under both plans)

Day Care Coverage (For all in HDFC, 561 diseases in ABHP)

Refill Benefit for same illness (Covered in HDFC Plan with minimal extra premium & Not at all in ABHP)

Ayush Benefit (If you think you would go for it anytime in life)

Consumable coverage (Available in HDFC)

Apart from above features, you will also lose out on the No Claim Bonus accumulated over last 2 years in HDFC plan (100% of SI) if you port to ABHP.

Hope this helps in making a planned decision for you.
