Porting out from HDFC Optima Restore

reply Share
22 Nov, 2022 by  Bosch

I'm looking to port out from HDFC Optima Restore {bought the policy when it was erstwhile Apollo Munich}. Premium increase does not seem reasonable. Considering following options -

1. ICICI Health Shield

2. Aditya Birla Assure Diamond with super NCB

3. Aditya Birla Platinum Enhanced

Sum insured with HDFC is 5 L {additional NCB of 5L}. Looking for base cover of 10 L among above options.

Suggestions to ensure smooth porting out {40 days left}

From my personal experience of claims in HDFC Ergo which is best in class, I'd suggest you not to port out and rather move to the new and better plan Optima Secure (also opt for unlimited restoration rider) with higher SI.

The premium is a factor of many things and it can change (mostly increase) for any plan in the market and at any time. For eg. Niva Bupa Reassure which is amongst the cheaper plans now is going to increase it's premium from January 2023. The same can happen with the plans you've listed.

Also, in the newer OS plan, the premium is calculated based on each individual's age and not just the highest age.

Port only if you are not satisfied with the company or if you want to get some additional benefits which are not covered in your existing plan (or the newer OS plan) like OPD, Global coverage, etc.

Thank you
