Query regarding nominee of Term Insurance.

Hi!

I have two questions:

  1. Can I change the nominee after some time I buy the policy? Eg. I am not married yet, but I may marry in the future and would want to add my spouse to the nominee list. Will it be possible?
  2. The name of my parents on my id cards and all the certificates contains the surname but my parents' ID card doesn't. Should I write the names according to my certificate or according to their ID cards to get the claims?

Thanks

Hello Harsh,

  1. Yes, you can change the nominee of a term insurance policy any number of times.
  2. You should write their full name, along with their surname. And, you should also inform your insurer about this - to avoid any issues in case a claim under the policy arises in the future.

Thank you!
