Tata AIG Medicare premiere.
How is TATA AIG Medicare premier plan as compared to HDFC optima restore. Also, although mentioned on the website is "single private room" but I asked the representative and he said their is no room rent limit. It's just an error on the website. The base cover is 10 lacs. Individual , age 27.
Hi Nikhil,
Health Insurance Policy buying is probably one of the biggest financial decisions you would make in life. You would need the input of a professional & experienced insurance advisor for such planning.
Both Medicare Premier (TATA AIG) & Optima Restore (Hdfc Ergo) are among the best-rated insurance plans in this category. As Mr.Avinash rightly highlighted both policies have certain merits over the other.
However, selecting the right insurance means that you take into consideration several important factors such as your current & future insurance needs, your family's current and past medical history, your budget, etc.

Hi Nikhil,
I'm not an advisor but I'm also looking to buy health insurance and Tata AIG is in my list.
As per the policy wordings of the Tata AIG Medicare,
You will be paying 10% of the bill if the selected room is higher than the eligible category.
The brochure says that Room Rent is limited to Single Private. Your representative might've considered limit as in numbers, for example rent should not exceed 3000. It's a limit on category which means you can take a Single Private room even if it costs 20K per day as long as it doesn't belong to the Suite or Deluxe category.
Could you clarify this with your representative.
Hi,
Tata AIG Medicare Premier is a good plan.
If we compare with HDFC Ergo Optima Restore, then
Shortcomings of Tata AIG Medicare premier plan:
Positives of Tata AIG Medicare premier plan:
This is a very high level comparison of the plans. You'll need to go through both the policy wordings in detail to get a better understanding.
