Dear Viral
Insurance is an universal contract and event is covered at all locations even if you change citizenship.
Even today term insirance is available to NRI and even foreign nationals if they are staying in India at the time of policy commencement .
So do not worry , the contract is valid like Narsimha , death on earth , sea or sky anywhere in world. There can be only one exception i.e death in some forbidden countries which are having internal or external problems like Syria , Sudan .
Hope this clarifies

Hi Viral,
Change in resident status after taking Term Insurance doesn't impact your cover.
It is good that you have informed them. Please also intimate them about the same on email. It will be a handy record in case your Insurer raises a question about it.
Hope this helps.
