Dear Team,

I hold a Canara HSBC Oriental Bank of Commerce Life Insurance iSelect +Term Plan

An Individual Non-Linked Non-Par Pure Risk Premium Life Insurance Term Plan

.During purchase I had mentioned that I work as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and sometimes i fly as a non fare paying passenger.I dont work as a flight crew.Bit confused now that in case of an unfortunate air accident during a maintenance flight will I get the claim or not.

While purchasing online it was discussed on call and they told that you will get the claim in such case also.I also hold various LIC policies endowment plan and similiar concern for them as well.Request for your expert advice.

Thanks in advance.

We breathe insurance :)

Hello Manish,

If you have mentioned your exact occupation, details of your employer in the proposal form that you filled and submitted when you bought the policies you have mentioned out here - you have nothing to worry about.

If you are in doubt, there is no harm in writing to your insurance companies and getting this clarification. The reason all of us buy Insurance is to provide the best, stress-free financial security to our families - why should you leave any grey area for your family to fight in your absence?

Hope this clarifies. Please do reach out if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Team Beshak

Dear Manish

When you have declared your occupation then Insurance company can not deny the claim .

Moreover , you are an Aircraft engineer and not in flying side .

Please note that all facts need to be declared at the time of proposal . Insurer accept the proposal on the basis of declared facts . It is duty of insurer to ask any additional question .

If insurer has accepted the proposal then they will have to honour their commitment .

Even a pilot flying a scheduled commercial flight ( Airindia / Indigo ) is not treated risky life for life insurance plans & hence you need not worry.
