Dear Prem Kumar

Please note that all expenses of treatment is linked to the room rent .

Doctor fees , operation fees etc will be lower if you share room .Hence it is advisable not tp take the top category room because it will exhaust all your money .

Now a days , there is no restriction on room rent but you need to check it from your policy document.

Hope this clarifies

Hi Prem,

When the plan mentions room eligibility as Pvt ward, then it means Pvt room of the least room rent. Why?

Because a hospital may have multiple types of Pvt ward. Generally this is due to size of the room, amenities in the room or other fancy aspects. But it doesn't impact or alter anything in the treatment.

So at the hospital, you should ask for various types of Pvt ward and pick the one of lowest rent.

Alternatively, at next renewal, you can port to a plan with no room rent capping.

I was on a plan with same limit and this year I ported to a plan with no room rent cap.

Agree with Anuj and Shailesh.

There are very few health insurance plans that allow any type of room in case of hospitalization. Max Bupa Reassure is one such plan. You can check it out.
