Hey Kaushik,

I am not sure that is your query about the recovery benefit in MyHealth Suraksha Policy by HDFC Ergo.

Since you have Rs 15,000 recovery benefit, I can guess you have 7.5 to 15 lakhs cover in Gold plan. The benefit, as per policy, means that if at any time, you have to be hospitalized for more than 10 days (i.e. 11 days or more) in the same admission, then apart from hospital bill, you can also claim this Rs 15,000 benefit via reimbursement claim.

Why is this benefit given?

The explanation in the plan is that apart from the health issue and related treatment costs, you would have incurred other kinds of losses, such as income loss or maybe costs such as food and lodging expenses of the attenders etc. So this benefit can give you some relief for these losses.

I hope this clarifies. Happy to answer if you have any followup questions.
