Will it make sense to buy both Corona Rakshak and Corona Kavach?

My brother was suggesting that Corona Rakshak and Kavach have different types of coverage and it is better to get them both.

  • I currently don't have any other insurance policy.
  • Will I be eligible to buy both?
  • How much will they cost? (If I can only buy one, which one should I prioritise)

Please help!

Hi Mamta,

It is advisable to take a comprehensive insurance plan instead of just taking a Corona Rakshak & Kavach.

You can still go ahead and buy these plans. Here's the link to the article which has been updated recently with the eligibility criterion, coverage, pricing, and features of these plans.

We breathe insurance :)

Hello Mamta,

All the questions you have asked have been answered in detail here: Health Insurance In The Time Of Covid19 Pandemic (beshak.org)

  1. You should always have a basic health insurance policy to cover all kinds of hospitalization and not only COVID.
  2. Yes, since they are fairly economical (cost around Rs. 2K each for a 5L/2.5L cover for a 30-year-old), you can buy both that would be the most robust financial cover you could find in the pandemic. There is no restriction that stops you to buy both.
  3. If you are not planning to buy a comprehensive health cover than you must buy the Corona Kavach of Rs. 5 Lakhs for each of your family members

Hope this helps
