Review of Care Insurance Care Supreme With Instant Cover Rider by Care Health Insurance Company Limited

The Care Insurance Care Supreme with Instant Cover Rider plan is a comprehensive health insurance policy offered by Care Health Insurance Company.

It takes care of medical expenses for PEDs like asthma, diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia after the first 30 days. This plan is affordable when compared to other products available in the market and provides extensive coverage. You can earn a No Claim Bonus of up to 600% under the plan. However, the plan does not offer a monthly premium payment option. And, our research suggests that the insurer has faced more complaints related to policy purchases and claim settlements. This indicates a less favourable track record when it comes to both purchase and claims service.

What are the benefits offered by the Care Insurance Care Supreme With Instant Cover Rider Plan?

  • Inpatient hospitalisation coverage: Like most health insurance plans, the Care Insurance Care Supreme with Instant Cover Rider Plan takes care of inpatient hospitalisation costs. This covers fees for your hospital room, nursing care, consultations, prescription medications, ICU expenses, and any other related costs. It ensures that you are supported during your hospital stay without the added financial burden.
  • Pre-hospitalisation coverage: Before getting admitted to the hospital, you might incur some medical costs known as pre-hospitalisation charges. These include fees for consultations, lab tests, checkups, medical reports, etc. The insurance company will cover these expenses only if they are directly related to the medical condition that eventually leads to your hospitalisation, and the claim is approved as part of your inpatient hospitalisation coverage. Under the Care Insurance Care Supreme with Instant Cover Rider Plan, your pre-hospitalisation expenses are covered for 60 days before your hospitalisation, up to the sum insured.
  • Post-hospitalisation coverage: Once you leave the hospital, you might incur extra medical expenses called post-hospitalisation costs. These expenses include doctor visits, checkups, rehabilitation, physical therapy, etc. To make sure these costs are covered, they need to be linked to your hospitalisation, and your claim has to be approved as part of your hospitalisation coverage. With the Care Insurance Care Supreme with Instant Cover Rider Plan, you will get coverage for post-hospitalisation expenses for 180 days following your hospital stay, up to the sum insured.
  • Daycare treatment coverage: A daycare treatment is a medical procedure that once needed a long hospital stay but can now be done in just 24 hours due to medical advancements in the field. The Care Insurance Care Supreme with Instant Cover Rider Plan covers all daycare treatments without any limit.
  • Domiciliary treatment coverage: Domiciliary treatments are medical treatments for illnesses or injuries that necessitate immediate attention at the hospital but are administered at home due to the severity of the patient’s condition or the unavailability of beds in nearby hospitals. The Care Insurance Care Supreme with Instant Cover Rider Plan covers the costs of all domiciliary treatments except for 12 illnesses, up to the chosen sum insured.
  • Organ donor coverage: The Care Insurance Care Supreme with Instant Cover Rider Plan includes coverage for organ donor expenses. It covers all costs related to harvesting the organ from the donor where you are the recipient, up to the chosen sum insured.
  • Modern treatment coverage: With the ongoing advancements in medical technology, we now have access to cutting-edge treatments like stem cell therapy, radio surgery, etc. that were once considered impossible. The Care Insurance Care Supreme with Instant Cover Rider Plan is designed to keep up with these medical breakthroughs and covers expenses related to these modern treatments up to the sum insured, without any limit.
  • Non-medical expenses coverage: Non-medical expenses include coverage for consumables like gloves, nebulization kits, oxygen masks, etc. These costs can accumulate quickly and cause financial strain. The Care Insurance Care Supreme plan with Instant Cover Rider, offers coverage for non-medical expenses without any limit, as an add-on.
  • No-claim bonus: When you buy the Care Insurance Care Supreme With Instant Cover Rider Plan, you can enjoy a great benefit called the No-Claim Bonus for staying healthy and not making any claims in a policy year. Under this plan, you get 50% of the sum insured as a no claim bonus, up to a maximum of 100% of the sum insured. And the best part is that even if you make a claim in a policy year, your no claim bonus will stay intact.
  • Super No Claim Bonus: The Super No Claim Bonus is a turbocharged version of the regular No Claim Bonus. The Care Insurance Care Supreme with Instant Cover Rider Plan helps you enjoy this accelerated bonus feature as an add-on. It offers 100% of the sum insured as a Super No Claim Bonus each year. The maximum bonus you can accumulate under the plan is 500% of the sum insured. The accumulated bonus will stay intact even if you make a claim in a policy year. The Super No-Claim Bonus leads to a rise in the sum insured that exceeds the increase earned through the regular No Claim Bonus.
  • Restoration Benefit: This feature restores your sum insured after you have used it for both related and unrelated illnesses during a policy year. The refill kicks in once your sum insured and no claim bonus (if any) is completely exhausted. You can enjoy this benefit unlimited times in a policy year, starting with the first paid claim. In the case of portability, the credited sum insured would be applicable only up to the extent of the sum insured of the expiring policy, inclusive of the recharge benefit.

Please note that the limits and conditions mentioned in the above benefits and features are for Rs. 10 Lakhs sum insured.

Care Insurance Care Supreme With Instant Cover Rider Plan: Financial Limits

  • Room rent limit: It is the maximum amount your health insurance policy will pay for the room you stay in during your hospitalisation. If you stay within this limit, it means that you will not incur additional charges. Opting for a room exceeding this limit requires you to contribute a proportional share of the entire hospital bill, and not just the excess room rent. With the Care Insurance Care Supreme with the Instant Cover Rider Plan, you have the freedom to select any room without any restrictions.
  • ICU rent limit: Under the Care Insurance Care Supreme with Instant Cover Rider Plan, the expenses related to your ICU stay are covered up to the sum insured without any limit. This means you can receive excellent medical care without being concerned about the associated costs.
  • Copayment: A copayment is a certain percentage of the approved claim amount you must pay upfront before your insurer takes care of the remaining amount. The Care Insurance Care Supreme with Instant Cover Rider Plan does not have a copayment.
  • Deductible: Deductible is a certain amount you are responsible for paying before your insurance company steps in to cover your medical expenses. The Care Insurance Care Supreme with Instant Cover Rider Plan does not have any deductible.
  • Limits on surgeries/treatments: It is the maximum limit up to which your health insurance policy will cover for specific medical procedures. Some plans place a cap on how much they’ll cover for certain treatments, while others do not. Under the Care Insurance Care Supreme with Instant Cover Rider Plan, you receive coverage for cataract treatment and joint replacement surgery up to the sum insured without any limit.

Please note that the above financial limits are taken for a 30-year-old individual opting for a sum insured of Rs. 10 Lakhs.
